After you change the photo, look above to the selections and select "Remove BG" -- remove background - and click on that. It takes a few moments and then only the person(s) in the photo will remain. At that point, you can re-size and re-position the photo if required making sure that part of it overlaps with "DAD" for the layered "pop" effect. And that is it.
