This DIY pre-printed printable, that you can also download and print with your inkjet printer, letter size, when you download from the poster or folded greeting card categories, you can make a table standing picture frame / ornament, and has my illustration art, inspired by Sleepy Hollow, where Ichabod Crane nervously exchanges pumpkin pie for the Headless Horseman's pumpkin. The Headless Horseman is riding his noble horse Daredevil, both about to approach a covered bridge, and under a harvest moon, with cattails knocking against a log near a brook and tree.. It's my unadulterated take on this classic story by Washington Irving! My way of putting a softer approach to artistically showing the story. lol


Once made, the Sleepy Hollow art will show through the picture window, shown and printed on panel 3, top right corner.

This download printable and pre-printed paper sheet, here. is a papercraft, a DIY pattern that makes a 3x4 tabletop picture frame, for a x2x3 inch photo, with bendable strut leg, and can turn into a hanging ornament!


SUPPLIES:
Note: make sure that all supplies are labeled acid free and/or photo safe - all supplies sold in art or craft stores, office supply, or big box stores in stationery / scrapbook and/or fabric / crafts / paper / architectural tools area

1 letter size sheet of any of these: inkjet paper - card stock paper - lf downloading to use aswashable inkjet fabric - self laminating sheet optional for paper - any inkjet printable substrate (surface)

2 ribbons: one 1/8" or 3 mm wide by 2 feet long to thread through 7 circles hole punched on panels 2 & 3, thread in both directions to join and make photo pocket - one ribbon 1" wide by 6" long to connect optional given strut leg to easel back, if wanting to stand frame on table or shelf
letter size sheet protector page: cut to size of photo for protective photo sleeve - also used with strut leg clear piece pattern, sandwiched between front & back strut legs, split into top & bottom, shows through middle to make strut leg bend, to pitch for frame to stand - acid free / photo safe labeled and found in Walmart, Walgreens, Target, scrapbook section, office supply, or online

INSTRUCTIONS:
Print on inkjet printable surface - paper sheet already pre-printed
Cut out panel parts labeled, cut along lines printed, cutting into and away inner and outer corners along lines - trim away excess white negative space on sheet
Fold side flaps under and glue / tape down on back along outer / inner edges
Hole punch all circles
Connect panels 2 & 3, print sides facing into each other by threading skinny ribbon through 3 sided 7 holes in both directions, knot on both sides, trim ribbon tails, glue down
Assemble and glue panels together, front or 1 on top of 2, and 4 on top of 3, gluing between spaces between holes along outer inside edge - leave opening on bottom right corners, both sides, for ribbon to be tucked in, connecting bottom right of strut leg
STRUT LEG:
Make sure both top and bottom of both front and back strut leg panels are cut out, side flaps in tact, separated along lines, white negative space removed, flaps folded under, and cut clear strut leg piece from pattern provided
Back strut leg top & bottom facing down, sides folded in glued down or open, place clear strut leg on top, using very close spacing between top and bottom, spacing about 1/16" to 1/8" between top and bottom back strut leg panels - can fold and glue down flaps over clear strut leg piece or not - your choice
Add ribbon along inside of vertical side of bottom strut leg on back or inside - it will hide inside between the back and front bottom strut leg
Place and glue down front strut leg panels, top and bottom
Align bottom right strut leg and easel back corners CAREFULLY, PATIENTLY, and GENTLY, while holding - use table or flat surface to help tap in place - flip top strut leg out, and gently place glue on inside top part of back strut leg. Press onto easel back
Stand frame, pulling ribbon out front, under bottom of frame. Pitch strut leg out, pulling the ribbon towards back, mark with a pin or tape or a safety pin where the ribbon meets the bottom of the frame, and trim ribbon down to 1-2" in front
Tuck ribbon inside bottom right area between easel back and inside panel 3, stand frame, pitch strut leg, and where it stands on it's own, gently mark where ribbon stopped, and add glue inside, press closed
Cut protective photo sleeve from sheet protector the size of the photo
Add optional ribbon through hole on top of back panels 3 & 4, to hang as an ornament OR
Add optional military clutch, in top hole on back, to wear as a badge / pin / brooch costume jewelry, or chain to wear as a pendant / badge

Place photo in photo sleeve, and then place inside the frame, and display it!
